Fixing The Disk Is Write Protected Errors

Write protection keeps your drive or memory card safe from being changed or formatted. If you enable the written protection on your device then no one can able to delete, change, edit or format it without disabling the written protection. Sometimes the written protection enable’s it ourselves just because of viruses and it creates problem for user to use it, that’s why I make this tutorial to show you how to disable the written protection on USB drive and cards.

So Let’s See

There are some of solutions you can try step by step to disable this error and use your pendrive smoothly.
Solution 1 – Write Protect Enable/Disable Switch
Most of the pendrive and SD card having a switch which can turn On/ Off the write protection just by switching the switch. So, if you enable the write protections by mistake then find that switch and turn off the protection.

Solution 2 – Change the Drive Permissions
Changing the drive permission can helps sometimes. So, change the permission if someone changed it or it was done by some viruses. Just tick the “Full Control” under “Everyone” user name.
Now try to format you drive after changing the permission. If that won’t works for you then move on to our next solution.
Solution 3 – Changing Windows Registry
Windows registry contains numbers of permission in it to run your windows in a perfect way. We can able to change the registry and make our windows reliable to use it. Here below we show you how to change the registry for write protected.
Step 1 – Open “regedit”.
Step 2 – Find the “StorageDevicePolicies” in the regedit.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>>SYSTEM>>CurrentControlSet>>>Control>>StorageDevicePolicies
Note: Scroll down until you find the StorageDevicePolicies.
